Pedestrian crowd control barriers are essential when setting up a construction site, or an event where pedestrians need to be segregated from vehicle movements or directed along particular routes.

At Wade, our standard metal fixed-leg crowd barriers are easy to set up, light to handle, and can come in a number of branded colours to suit. They interlock together with a hook and loop system, so can be set up and taken down again quickly as site conditions change.

A single barrier is 2.3 metres long, 1.1 m high and weighs in at 10 kg, which makes them simple to set up by a single operative. Their portability also makes them suitable for a wide range of practical applications across a site, while ballast bags will add another 10 kg to help keep them secured in place.

For additional security metal barriers can be clipped together using temporary fence clips. When not in use stack and store them for easy transportation on a stillage or pallet.

Barriers are often used to protect against falls on construction sites, adjacent to excavations for foundations, or close to a leading edge. In these situations, the barriers must be set up, and secured at least a metre from any opening or potential fall hazard. Always refer to your risk assessment.

Crowd barriers are resilient and are designed to stand up to the everyday rigours of life on a construction site or public event. For guaranteed protection from vehicle movements in vulnerable locations, consider using them in tandem with water-filled or concrete barriers.
