Featheredge fencing is a solid, practical traditional design used for garden boundaries and dividing neighbouring properties. A five-foot panel is suitable for many boundary fencing projects and can fit over concrete or timber baseboards.
The close-boarded finish provides privacy, while the vertical overlapping featheredge strips help take rainwater to the ground faster than some other designs.
These panels can also be customised for width at the end of a run or in a corner by shortening the panel or adding a post.
Choose a 6x5 featheredge panel where a traditional timber boundary fence, practical privacy and a five-foot panel height are appropriate. The panels work well between slotted concrete posts and over suitable timber or concrete baseboards.
Six-by-five panels are a two-person lift. Featheredge panels can be shortened at the end of a run or in a corner; the individual strips can be unpinned and refitted or cut down to suit.
For public-facing boundaries, keep the cross rails to the interior, safe side of the fence to help prevent climbing. Let neighbours know before removing an existing boundary and consider taking before-and-after photographs.
