The Catnic BHD100 Heavy Duty 100mm Box Lintel is a steel lintel designed for structural openings in internal load-bearing masonry walls. Suitable for specified masonry, floor and roof loading conditions, including concrete floor and point loads, the BHD100 combines a strong box-section profile with Catnic's galvanised and black powder-coated Duplex corrosion protection. Wade offers lengths from 900mm to 4800mm, with safe working loads of 29kN, 39kN or 51kN depending on the selected length.
Designed for internal load-bearing masonry walls requiring a higher load capacity than a standard-duty box lintel.
Specified for 100mm internal brick or block wall construction, subject to Catnic's technical requirements.
Published safe working loads range from 29kN to 51kN, depending on lintel length.
Suitable for specified floor and roof loading conditions, including concrete floors and point loads, where the structural design permits.
Incorporates plaster-key features to help provide a suitable surface for plaster finishing.
Manufactured from galvanised steel with Catnic's protective black polyester powder coating.

The BHD100 is manufactured in different section sizes according to length. Both its safe working load and nominal section height should be checked before specifying a lintel.
| Lintel length | Safe working load | Nominal height |
|---|---|---|
| 900–1500mm | 29kN | 143mm |
| 1650–2100mm | 39kN | 143mm |
| 2250–2700mm | 39kN | 219mm |

The Catnic BHD100 is designed for openings in internal load-bearing masonry walls. Catnic specifies it for a range of structural loading conditions, including direct floor or roof loads, concrete floor loads and point loads, provided the selected lintel has sufficient capacity for the proposed construction.
Unlike a cavity-wall lintel, the BHD100 is designed to support masonry in a solid internal wall. Confirm the wall construction and required loading before selecting a length.
Catnic's published loading figures use nominal 150mm end bearings at each end. The required lintel length is therefore normally calculated by adding 300mm to the clear structural opening width.
For example, a 1200mm opening would normally require a 1500mm lintel, allowing 150mm bearing at each end. Check that the selected length also provides sufficient safe working load.
The supporting masonry must be suitable for the loads transferred through the lintel. Follow Catnic's installation guidance and the project structural design, including any temporary support requirements during construction.
Wade also supplies the Catnic BSD100 standard duty box lintel and the Catnic BXD100 extra heavy duty box lintel.

The BHD100 is a heavy duty steel box lintel designed for internal load-bearing masonry walls. It can support specified masonry, floor and roof loading conditions where its published capacity is sufficient.
Catnic's published BHD100 specifications identify internal load-bearing masonry walls as the intended application. For an external wall, seek technical confirmation and select a lintel specified for the wall construction and exposure conditions.
The safe working load depends on length. Catnic publishes ratings of 29kN for lengths up to 1500mm, 39kN for 1650–2700mm, and 51kN for 2850–4800mm. Check the table above for the corresponding section height.
Wade offers BHD100 lintels from 900mm to 4800mm. Select the required length from the product options above.
Yes. The Catnic BHD100 incorporates an integral plaster key to help with plaster finishing.
Catnic's published loading figures use nominal 150mm end bearings at each end. The selected length and load capacity must suit the actual structural opening.
Both are Catnic box lintels for internal masonry walls, but the BHD100 is the heavy duty model and the BSD100 is the standard duty model. Their safe working loads differ by length, so compare the relevant loading tables rather than relying on the duty designation alone.
