The Catnic BXD100 Extra Heavy Duty 100mm Box Lintel is designed for structural openings in internal load-bearing masonry walls. Manufactured from galvanised steel with Catnic's protective black powder-coated finish, the BXD100 combines a heavy-duty box-section profile with an integral plaster key. We supply eight lengths from 900mm to 2700mm, with safe working loads of 47kN or 59kN depending on length.
Provides published safe working loads of 47kN or 59kN, depending on the selected lintel length.
Designed for suitable internal masonry walls, including specified structural floor and roof loading applications.
The BXD100 is designed for nominal 100mm solid masonry walls, rather than combined cavity-wall construction.
Incorporates a plaster key to assist with plaster finishing.
Galvanised steel with Catnic's protective black polyester powder coating.
Choose from 900mm, 1200mm, 1350mm, 1500mm, 1800mm, 2100mm, 2400mm and 2700mm.

The Catnic BXD100 is designed for openings in internal load-bearing masonry walls. Catnic specifies the range for demanding structural loading applications, including direct floor and roof loads, concrete floors and point loads, where the selected lintel and supporting masonry are suitable.
The BXD100 is not a combined cavity-wall lintel. Confirm the wall construction and structural loading requirements before ordering.
Catnic's published loading figures use nominal 150mm end bearings at each end. The required lintel length is normally calculated by adding 300mm to the clear structural opening width.
For example, a 1200mm structural opening would normally require a 1500mm lintel, providing 150mm bearing at each end. The selected lintel must also have sufficient safe working load for the intended construction.
Ensure the supporting masonry provides suitable bearings and can carry the loads transferred through the lintel. Follow Catnic's current installation guidance and the project structural design, including any requirements for temporary support during construction.
For different loading requirements, compare our Catnic BSD100 Standard Duty Box Lintel and Catnic BHD100 Heavy Duty Box Lintel.

The BXD100 is an extra heavy duty steel box lintel for internal load-bearing masonry walls. It can support specified masonry, floor and roof loads where its published capacity is sufficient.
We offer eight lengths: 900mm, 1200mm, 1350mm, 1500mm, 1800mm, 2100mm, 2400mm and 2700mm. Choose your required size from the options above.
Catnic specifies 47kN for lengths from 750mm to 1500mm and 59kN for lengths from 1650mm to 2700mm, subject to the manufacturer's loading conditions.
Yes. Catnic confirms that the BXD100 incorporates an integral plaster key.
The BXD100 is designed for internal solid masonry walls, not combined cavity-wall construction. For a cavity wall, choose a lintel designed for the relevant cavity and masonry leaf dimensions.
These are standard duty, heavy duty and extra heavy duty Catnic box lintels respectively. Their load capacities vary by model and length. Compare the technical loading tables rather than relying on duty designation alone.
Catnic's published loading figures use nominal 150mm end bearings at each end. Confirm the opening dimensions and loading requirements before ordering.
