Where to Fit

The ARC Cavity Stop Sock is designed for use within external masonry wall cavities. It is suited to providing a cavity barrier within the external wall cavity in line with a separating wall or floor and for closing the cavity at eaves level. It can also be installed horizontally or vertically at the party wall detail.

The 150mm version is designed for a maximum external cavity width of 150mm. The barrier should fully fill the cavity and the correct size should be selected to achieve the required compression fit.

Technical Information

ARC Cavity Stop Sock is manufactured using rockfibre mineral wool achieving Euroclass A1 fire classification. ARC states a thermal conductivity of 0.037 W/mK. The polythene encapsulation provides weather protection and product identification and should be left in place.

The CSS150 requires 10mm compression and has a stated masonry fire integrity of 4 hours with 15 minutes insulation performance.
