The Catnic Lintel CG90/100 has an easy to use Open Back Profile.

The Catnic CG90/100 range is a standard steel cavity lintel that can be used effectively across many standard openings. It is an easy, and fast-fit lintel with its open-back design and built-in DPC.

Catnic galvanises all their steel cavity lintel products to give them superb anti-corrosion resistance, but then they go a step further and add a powder-coat paint layer for added protection. This is what gives the Catnic steel lintel range its distinctive black look.

Where to fit

You can install a CG90/100 Catnic lintel when you require fair-face inner leaf masonry finishes, keeping the coursing continuous. The steel lintels start at 750 mm for a maximum 550 mm opening all the way up to 3600 mm, which should have a larger bearing, 150 mm at each end.

The inner flange sports a plaster key for ease of finishing, and the triangular, folded cavity section is filled with continuous insulation to minimise any cold bridging potential. The CG90/100 steel lintel can be used as part of the Part L compliance documentation required by the assessor prior to your Building Control sign-off.

Size matters

From 900 mm up to 1500 mm the Catnic CG90/100 lintel can take care of a 15 kN loading. The longest version, at 3.6 m can deal with 26 kN, as the height of the lintel will increase from 90 mm to 224 mm as the structural opening increases.

The SWL (safe working load) is based on the total UDL (uniform distributed load) over a maximum span with 150mm bearing at each end.
