The SSFS50 Powertie is designed for timber frame construction where the outer masonry leaf needs to be restrained back to the timber frame structure. Unlike standard masonry cavity wall ties, Type 6 timber frame ties are made for timber frame dwellings, extensions and external wall applications where this tie type is specified.

When to Use SSFS50 Timber Frame Ties

SSFS50 timber frame ties are used where a masonry outer leaf is being tied back to a timber frame structure. They are suitable for 50–75mm cavity widths and are intended for timber frame construction rather than standard masonry-to-masonry cavity walls.

Timber and masonry move differently, so the correct frame tie is important. The SSFS50 allows vertical movement while still providing restraint to the outer leaf, helping the wall build-up perform as intended.
