Where Is a Plastic Post and Chain Barrier Used?

Queue management and pedestrian routes

Use the posts and chain to create clear queueing lines, guide pedestrians through a venue or separate different areas without installing a solid barrier.

Events and venues

Suitable for organising entrances, queues, restricted areas and pedestrian movement where a lightweight, highly visible system is required.

Workplaces and worksites

Useful for temporarily defining pedestrian areas, access routes and no-go zones where a lightweight visual boundary is appropriate.

Hospitality and public-facing areas

The plastic construction is easy to clean, making the system practical for environments where equipment may need regular cleaning.

When Should You Choose Post and Chain Instead of Temporary Fencing?

A plastic post and chain barrier is suited to guiding people and defining space. It is not a substitute for temporary mesh fencing or hoarding where physical security, site separation or controlled access is required.

For construction compounds, perimeter security or areas requiring a physical barrier, consider a suitable temporary fencing or hoarding system instead.

How the JSP Post and Chain System Works

The plastic chain clips or loops into the connection point at the top of each post. Position the posts along the required route and connect the chain between them to create a continuous visual boundary.

Post bases are available separately and can be used to provide support for the posts. The system can then be moved or reconfigured when the layout changes.

Plan the post spacing around the route being created and make sure the finished arrangement is stable and clearly visible to pedestrians.

Important Usage Information

The JSP post and chain system is not rated for street works or use on the public highway. For road and street works, use an appropriate Chapter 8 barrier or suitable traffic management product instead. If you are unsure which system is appropriate, contact Wade before ordering.
