Expamet stainless steel Exmet coil is expanded mesh bed-joint reinforcement designed to help control cracking in brick and block masonry, particularly around areas of concentrated stress such as window and door openings. Each coil is supplied in a 20m length.

Typical Applications

The Expamet stainless steel brick reinforcement mesh is bedded into horizontal mortar joints during construction to help control cracking, including around window and door openings and other areas of concentrated stress.

Installation Requirements

  • Fully bed the mesh in fresh mortar before the next masonry course is laid.
  • Overlap adjoining coil ends by 75mm.
  • Install at maximum 225mm vertical centres.
  • Where used around openings, provide a 600mm projection beyond the jambs.
  • Cut to the required size using suitable tin snips or aviation cutters.
