Catnic CX70/100 Extra Heavy Duty Cavity Wall Lintel

The Catnic CX70/100 is an extra heavy duty steel lintel designed for 70–85mm cavity wall construction with 100–115mm inner leaf masonry. It is engineered for high-load openings and is suitable for applications including masonry, concrete floor and attic truss loads.

Manufactured from galvanised steel with a powder-coated finish, the CX70/100 incorporates continuous insulation, a built-in damp proof course and an integral plaster key to provide structural support while helping minimise cold bridging at the opening.

Installation & Technical Notes

End bearing: Use the manufacturer's specified minimum end bearing and check the relevant Catnic load/span table for the selected lintel length and loading condition.

Leaf construction: Build both leaves up together and follow the manufacturer's installation sequence.

Concrete floor loads: Where concrete floor loads are present, ensure the inner blockwork is built tight against the lintel's inner vertical face and follow the manufacturer's requirements for the top mortar joint and load distribution.

Load selection: Safe working load varies with lintel length and application. Select the correct CX70/100 length using the manufacturer's load/span guidance.
