Expamet BAT HD Heavy Duty Horizontal Restraint — 100mm Bent Strap

The Expamet BAT HD is a heavy duty horizontal restraint strap for tying masonry to floor or roof structures and providing structural restraint where specified. It is manufactured from galvanised mild steel with a heavy 600g/m² zinc coating and can be bent or twisted to suit the required detail.

The strap is 28mm wide, 4.0mm thick, and weighs 0.810kg per metre. Available stocked lengths are 600mm, 700mm, 900mm, 1000mm, 1200mm, 1500mm, and 1600mm

Material and Construction

• Frequent 6mm fixing holes for convenient installation

Specified Fixings

Use 4 × 75mm round wire nails through the 6mm fixing holes. Follow the stated fixing arrangement for the intended application.

Installation Requirements

• Bent installation: Build the strap into the wall with the downstand tight against the face of the block.
• Floor fixing: Install across three joists, perpendicular to the joists, with noggins between them. Use one fixing per joist and one fixing per noggin, five fixings in total.
• Select the strap length and formed detail to suit the specified restraint connection.
