The Expamet BAT HD is a heavy duty horizontal restraint strap for tying masonry to floor or roof structures and providing structural restraint where specified. This listing includes bent and straight length options, so select the variant that matches the required installation detail. For the bent form, the strap is built into the wall with the downstand tight against the face of the block.

Manufactured from galvanised mild steel with a heavy 600g/m² zinc coating, the strap is 28mm wide, 4.0mm thick, and weighs 0.810kg per metre. Lengths can be bent or twisted with sizes from 1000mm to 1600mm.

Specified Fixings

Use 4 × 75mm round wire nails through the 6mm fixing holes. Follow the stated fixing arrangement for the intended restraint application.

Installation Requirements

• Bent installation: Build the strap into the wall with the downstand tight against the face of the block.
• Floor fixing: Install across three joists, perpendicular to the joists, with noggins between them. Use one fixing per joist and one fixing per noggin, five fixings in total.
• Choose the required length and confirm whether a bent or straight variant is needed before ordering.
