The Catnic CN71A is a standard-duty steel box lintel designed for 200–215mm external solid brick or block walls. Its box profile with supporting toe is designed to carry wet masonry loads immediately after installation, making it suitable for structural openings in solid-wall construction. The lintel is manufactured from galvanised steel with Catnic's black Duplex corrosion protection coating.

Where to use the Catnic CN71A

The CN71A is intended for openings in 200mm and 215mm external solid masonry walls. Its box section and supporting toe provide support for masonry above the opening, while the profile is designed to resist twisting during construction.

This lintel is specifically designed for solid-wall construction, rather than cavity walls. For higher loading requirements or different opening sizes, Catnic also manufactures alternative solid-wall lintels, including the heavy-duty CN71C and CN81C ranges.

Choosing the correct lintel length

Catnic specifies nominal 150mm end bearings for the CN71A. The required lintel length is normally calculated by adding 300mm to the structural opening width, allowing 150mm bearing at each end.

For example, a 1500mm structural opening would normally require an 1800mm lintel. The selected product must also have sufficient safe working load for the proposed construction.

I'm giving 4 stars as I ordered the item and had no comms at all from the company until I asked when it might get delivered. Radio silence after paying. It did arrive in time and the item is in place and doing its job. I would recommend but the 5 star review slipped because I had no idea what was going on with the order.

SHOCKING! You must be the worst company I have dealt with. Your website states next day delivery, not true. Your websites states items were in stock, not true. Then I was told 7-10 days, told it would be delivered Tuesday and it was....to the wrong address! (£50 delivery!) I then had to go and retrieve it myself, no offer of your company collecting it and delivering it to the correct address or reimbursement of the delivery fee! The next delivery I was told it would arrive on the Tuesday, only to be told it wasn't going to be delivered, I then had to wait until Thursday. I'm not sure why I'm wasting my time writing this as I don't think for one minute you'll respond to my dissatisfaction of such poor communication and customer service.
