The Catnic CX90/100 is an Extra Heavy Duty cavity wall lintel designed for structural openings from 750mm up to 4500mm. It features built-in DPC, integral plaster key, continuous insulation and a duplex galvanised and powder-coated finish.

Where to Fit

The CX90/100 is ideal for structural cavity wall openings from 750mm up to 4500mm. It can support concrete floors, roof loads, uniformly distributed timber floor loads, attic trusses and triangulated masonry loads.

For best results, ensure the blockwork fits snugly within the web of the steel cavity lintel and allow the supporting blockwork time to properly cure. Both inner and outer masonry leaves should be raised together, and wide openings should be suitably propped to allow mortar curing time.

Design & Loading

From 900mm up to 2700mm, the CX90/100 can take up to 60kN loading. The 4.8m version can deal with 32kN. SWL is based on the total UDL over maximum span using 150mm bearing at each end.

The continuous insulated core reduces cold bridging and can be used as part of the overall assessment of Part L compliance. The lintel profile provides a DPC in most installations, directing moisture out of the cavity, with a drip on the leading edge to aid water shedding at the window head.
