The Catnic CX110/100 Extra Heavy Duty 110mm Cavity Lintel is designed for high-load masonry cavity wall construction with a 110–125mm cavity, a 100–115mm inner leaf and a 100–102mm outer leaf. Its open-back steel profile supports specified masonry, timber floor and roof loads, while continuous insulation, an integral plaster key and built-in DPC provide practical construction benefits. We supply 13 lengths from 900mm to 4200mm, with safe working loads of 32–60kN depending on length.

Where to use a Catnic CX110/100 lintel
The CX110/100 is intended for extra heavy duty masonry cavity walls with a cavity width of 110–125mm. It is designed to support specified masonry, timber floor and roof loads, with concrete floor and attic truss applications subject to Catnic's loading and installation requirements.
Its open-back profile allows masonry to be built continuously on both leaves and is suitable for fair-faced inner leaf masonry.
Choosing the correct CX110/100 length
Catnic's published loading figures use nominal 150mm end bearings at each end. As a general starting point, add 300mm to the clear structural opening width to allow for the required bearings.
For example, a 1200mm structural opening would normally require a 1500mm lintel, allowing 150mm bearing on either side. The selected lintel must also provide sufficient safe working load for the construction above.
Installation and support requirements
Both masonry leaves should be raised together, and the supporting wall construction must provide suitable end bearings. Follow Catnic's current guidance for temporary propping, load transfer and lateral restraint during construction.
For concrete floor applications using Catnic CH and CX open-back lintels, build the blockwork tightly against the inner vertical face of the lintel. Add a mortar joint to the top of the blockwork so the floor units distribute their load evenly across the lintel's inner flange.
