The Catnic CG130/100 Standard Duty 130mm Cavity Lintel is designed for masonry cavity walls with a 130–145mm cavity, a 100–115mm inner leaf and a 100–102mm outer leaf. Its open-back steel profile allows masonry to be built up on both leaves, while continuous insulation, a built-in DPC and an integral plaster key provide practical construction benefits. We supply 18 lengths from 750mm to 3600mm, with safe working loads ranging from 15kN to 26kN depending on length.

Designed for a 100–115mm inner masonry leaf and a 100–102mm outer leaf.

Standard duty loading

Suitable for specified masonry, timber floor and roof loads within Catnic's published loading capacity.

Open-back profile

Allows masonry to be built up continuously on the inner and outer leaves and accommodates fair-faced inner leaf masonry.

Built-in DPC

Incorporates a damp-proof course. Additional DPC may be required in some installation or exposure conditions.

Integral insulation and plaster key

Continuous insulation helps reduce thermal bridging, while the integral plaster key assists with plaster finishing.

Where to use a Catnic CG130/100 lintel

The CG130/100 is designed for standard duty masonry cavity walls with a 130–145mm cavity. It supports specified masonry loads and suitable timber floor and roof loads where the selected lintel's capacity meets the structural design.

Its open-back profile allows masonry to be built continuously on both leaves and is suitable for fair-faced inner leaf masonry.

Choosing the correct CG130/100 length

Catnic's published loading figures use nominal 150mm end bearings at each end. As a general starting point, add 300mm to the clear structural opening width to allow for the required bearings.

For example, a 1200mm structural opening would normally require a 1500mm lintel, allowing 150mm bearing on each side. The selected lintel must also provide sufficient safe working load for the construction above.

Installation considerations

Check the cavity width, masonry leaf dimensions and supporting wall construction before installation. Follow Catnic's guidance for end bearings, temporary support where required, lateral restraint and any additional damp-proofing measures.
