100mm Cavity Lintels

Please Note: 100mm Cavity Lintels cover 90-105mm cavities. At Wade, we have the range of 100mm cavity lintels to cover every opening on your project, from standard to extra-heavy duty, galvanised or powder coated and even Part L compliant thermally broken specification.

Produced by British market leaders Catnic, Stressline and Birtley, the stock range at Wade is very comprehensive. However, if you have any special requirements that may need pre-ordering, do not hesitate to get in touch with our expert team.

Standard Duty 100mm Cavity Lintels

For everyday situations where there is a standard loading requirement, there is a good deal of choice of 100mm lintel ready for dispatch.

The Stressline SL90 is sized from 600mm to 4800mm and comes with integral insulation to minimise thermal bridging. Their wide inner leaf variant, the SL90WIL, is ideal for when a greater bearing depth is required.

The CB90 from Birtley starts at 750mm and has the SuperGalv galvanised finish that has 50% more protection than similar products, ideal if your project is in a coastal, maritime environment.

Catnic brings their CG90 to the party. With its duplex protection, you won’t need to fit a cavity tray if you install this lintel. Their variant, the TS90 is what you need if you aim for Part L compliance as it is an example of a thermally broken lintel.

Top Tip:

Take care when handling and storing thermally broken lintels. While they are quite rigid, the insulation material between the twin, steel load-bearing parts of the lintel can be easily damaged if the lintel is dropped or handled roughly.

Do not attempt a repair with a solvent-based construction adhesive as this will melt the insulation!

Medium Duty 100mm Cavity Lintels

What does medium duty mean? A medium-duty lintel could be a cost and weight-saving choice of specification when a standard lintel won’t do the job, but a heavier lintel looks like simple over-engineering.

Belt-and-braces might be good in some scenarios, but sometimes you need to consider the overall loadings in a construction. Stressline’s SL90HD and its wide inner leaf variant, bridge the gap nicely.

Heavy Duty 100mm Cavity Lintels

Each of the three main lintel manufacturers makes a heavy-duty version of their 100mm cavity lintels. Catnic also produces a thermally broken lintel, the TH90.

The Stressline heavy-duty lintel is part box lintel on the inner leaf, suitable for a plaster finish, but these are made to order, so allow two to three weeks when specifying.

Extra Heavy Duty 100mm Lintels

For the toughest loads on-site, you are going to need to go extra, extra strong, extra big, extra-heavy-duty. Both Stressline and Catnic 100mm cavity lintels are held in stock, including a Catnic thermally broken compliant lintel.
