Catnic Lintels Video

Catnic is one of the most recognisable names in lintel production, having introduced steel lintels in the UK in 1969. Since then, Catnic has continued to push forward with a number of innovations.

At Wade, we hold a wide range of Catnic steel lintels in stock, ready for dispatch across the UK.

Catnic Lintel Sizes

Wherever there is a wall opening on your project, you can be sure that Catnic has a lintel that will fit the bill, both in span and loading. If the standard lintel range hasn’t got the reach, Catnic also produces a heavy-duty and an extra-heavy-duty selection.

When looking at structural openings that are over 900 mm, a lintel will require a bearing of 150 mm at each end, so remember to add 300 mm when selecting your lintel. A patio door opening of 4.5 metres will require a 4.8 metre lintel and may need propping too.

Check out our Catnic steel lintel installation guide.

Catnic Cavity Lintels

The Catnic steel cavity lintel range spans the spectrum, from standard duty, for narrow cloakroom windows, to extra-heavy duty, for wider openings with more to support. Wherever there is a window or external door in a building’s cavity wall, Catnic has a lintel that can do the job.

Catnic cavity lintels are supplied in cavity sizes from 50 mm to 150 mm, to support every design demand while delivering a built-in DPC and continuous insulation as standard.

Cavity lintels with a thermal break are also available from Catnic when Part L-compliance may be hard to achieve alongside other requirements of a project build.

Catnic Box Lintels

The Catnic box lintel range can span any size of internal blockwork opening, and all standard block widths. They are a cost-effective, lightweight, easy-to-fit solution for all your internal blockwork partition wall requirements.

Catnic steel box lintels are perforated to take a plaster finish, and are lighter than any RSJ, making them ideal for many applications.

Catnic Solid Wall Lintels

For garages, garden walls, specialist brick bonding construction, or listed buildings and projects in conservation areas, Catnic solid wall lintels can help any project out of a tricky situation. With a square box at the back and a flange at the front, the standard duty specification lintel can also be used as an eaves lintel in a cavity wall.

Catnic Timber Frame Lintel

The Catnic timber frame lintel comes in three standard cavity widths of 50-, 70- and 100-mm. The range extends to standard duty only, heavier loadings will require more targeted support

Catnic Single Leaf Lintels

Catnic single-leaf lintels are designed to support 100 mm external walls and are fully built into the masonry. Ideal for single-leaf applications, garage walls, and non-standard cavity walls with an independent inner leaf lintel.

Catnic also supplies a single-leaf lintel to support masonry over a built-in utility meter box.

Catnic Duplex Anti-Corrosion Finish

The Duplex anti-corrosion finish, powder-coating over galvanised steel, gives Catnic lintels a distinct advantage in exposed coastal environments. The distinct signature black coating makes a Catnic Lintel instantly recognisable, as well as helping to ensure a long service life.
